Violence against women is a phenomenon that can be observed in almost all historical periods, forms, and social contexts. It manifests itself in a variety of dimensions and conflict constellations, which depend largely on the specific contexts of the time: Various sources document forms of domestic violence, violent acts in the workplace and in public spaces, as well as physical and psychological violence, or hate speech and defamation.

Participants include the members of the CAS Research Group “Femicide”: Julia Bühner (Frankfurt a.M.), Sara M. Butler (Ohio), Simona Feci (Naples L‘Orientale), Julia Habermann (Bochum), Sara McDougall (John Jay College of Criminal Justice), Alison More (University of St. Michael’s College, Toronto), Elena von Ohlen (Duisburg-Essen), Leonie Steinl (Münster), Ying Zhang (Leiden).
